In 2019 Renegade Theatre was awarded £49,000 of Heritage Lottery Funding to run the oral history project The Wornington Word: A Peoples History of the Wornington Green Estate.

500 working class North Kensington people from 21 ethnicities came together over 16 months to receive British Library oral history training, record the oral histories of 18 Wornington Green residents, capture the estate and local area in photos, express their memories and feelings in creative writing workshops, make a touring listening booth, learn how to use social media, curate our project website and archive and work with filmmaker Constantine Gras to create our documentary The Wornington Word.

The film won the Portobello Film Festivals Best UK Documentary Award in 2020.

Kevin Percival, a Wornington resident won A Portrait of Britain 2020 (British Journal of Photography) for his portrait photo of long term resident Grace Zikpi.
